My Practice and Philosophy

I offer services as an acupuncturist, herbalist, health consultant and mindful movement specialist. As a naturopathic doctor (“ND”) and acupuncturist in Washington, I’ve worked with a wide array of patients, from those who simply want to optimize their health to those with musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, or simple to complex chronic medical problems. As a doctor and teacher, my greatest passion and skill lies in my ability to recognize the habituated patterns that make or keep people sick, to compassionately help them rewrite their stories about their health and develop deeper, more meaningful relationships with themselves.

In my practice, I use standard western and specialized diagnostic testing, acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplementation, naturopathic practices, movement and breathing.  Rather than identifying with these labels, I see them as a broad set of tools I use to help in the process of mind-body integration.

While I am trained as a diagnostician and healer, at the end of the day, I view myself as an educator - self-knowledge is empowering, and in addition to helping my patients feel better, my job is also to help them understand their bodies on a scientific and subtle level so that they can more adeptly navigate their lives.  Some people come in to see me for simple acute injuries that just need a quick fix, while others come in with chronic pain and complex conditions that require more in-depth diagnostics, analysis, and often, mind-body integration.

I do my best to be sensitive about where my patients are interested in going, while being clear about my philosophy and ethos as a mind-body centered provider.

My clinical education

I obtained my degrees in naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and herbal medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington in 2017.  I followed my education with a naturopathic primary care residency where I worked with adults, children and newborns.  During my studies, I  also have advanced clinical training in biofeedback, orthopedics and regenerative medicine.
