My Practice and Philosophy

I’m a holistic healthcare provider here in Houston Texas. My primary mission is to help the clients I work with to find long-term sustainable solutions to health, mind-body or physical fitness problems that continue to persist even after working with other doctors and specialists, physical therapists, personal trainers or coaches, etc.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of mind-body medicine, I help my clients by guiding them towards becoming more embodied human beings. In most cases, I’m able to trace persistent health conditions and mental or physical plateaus at least in part back to a lack of embodiment or connection with the self. Embodiment means being deeply attuned to the body-mind connection and understanding how our habitual movement, thought and behavioral patterns affect our ability to connect deeply with ourselves. By learning to more clearly hear, understand and interpret the body’s subtle messages, we can address the root causes of discomfort. I believe that persistent health issues are at least partially a result of losing our connection with the body’s desire to communicate its needs with us. The longer those messages go unheard, the louder the body gets.

This is not to say that health problems can’t primarily have a mechanical or physiological root that needs to be addressed. They certainly do. My unique approach lies in my integration of mind-body, clinical and movement tools to support the process of healing, growth and embodiment. This includes naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, movement and fitness coaching, yoga and manual therapies, and nutrient and herbal medicine. What distinguishes me so much from other providers is that I put heavy focus on the relationship, learning deeply about my clients, their histories, beliefs and thoughts so that I can more effectively help them figure out where they have lost their connection with themselves, using my clinical, physical and mind-body tools as supplements to that process.

A unique aspect of my work is that I create a safe space for clients to experience and explore discomfort. Embracing the full spectrum of feeling is key to healing and growth. This journey requires dedication and a willingness to engage deeply, but I believe that the rewards are profound. Whether you’re looking for guidance in your healing journey or personal practice, my practice offers a path to a more embodied and fulfilling life.

My clinical education

I obtained my degrees in naturopathic medicine, acupuncture and herbal medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington in 2017. I followed my education with a naturopathic primary care residency where I worked with adults, children and newborns. During my studies, I also received specialized training in mind-body medicine, sports medicine and CIRS or mold illness.
